Three majors and retirement while world number one
Overview
The Indigenous Australian with the slice and complete game won Roland Garros 2019, Wimbledon 2021 and the Australian Open 2022, then retired in March 2022 at 25 while holding number one. A former professional cricketer during a tennis break, she later added Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020 mixed doubles. Her variety was a throwback art.
