Kim Clijsters
Four majors, including the 2009 US Open as a wild card mother
Overview
Clijsters won the US Open in 2005 and 2006, retired in 2007 to start a family, then returned in 2009 to win the US Open as a wild card, beating both Williams sisters, a first for a mother in the Open Era. She defended it in 2010 and won the 2011 Australian Open, reaching number one again in 2011. Elite athleticism and splits retrievals were her trademarks.
