Monica Seles
Eight majors before turning 20, then the Hamburg stabbing
Overview
The two handed thunderclap from Novi Sad won eight majors between 1990 and 1993, three straight French and three straight Australians among them, and held number one. In April 1993 she was stabbed on court in Hamburg by a deranged Graf fan, changing tennis history. She returned to win the 1996 Australian Open. Her grunting and double fisted power were revolutionary.
