Overview
King won 39 major titles across singles, doubles and mixed, including the famous 1973 Battle of the Sexes win over Bobby Riggs. She founded the Women Tennis Association in 1973 and fought successfully for equal prize money at the US Open from 1973. Her advocacy changed professional sport far beyond tennis. Wimbledon 1975 was her last major singles crown.
