The 6 foot 2 American won the 1998 US Open, 1999 Wimbledon and 2000 Australian Open, reaching number one in October 1998. Her flat, clean groundstrokes made her a nightmare matchup, and she won Olympic gold in Atlanta 1996. She won 55 career titles and later became a respected coach and commentator.
