Rod Laver
Rocket, the only man to win the calendar Grand Slam twice, 1962 and 1969
Overview
The redhead from Rockhampton won all four majors in 1962 as an amateur, then spent five pro years barred from them. When the Open Era arrived he won Wimbledon again in 1968 and 1969 and completed a second calendar Grand Slam in 1969, the only man to do the double. He won 11 majors in all and around 200 career titles. The main Australian Open arena and the Laver Cup carry his name.
