Overview
The leaping German from Leimen won Wimbledon in 1985 at 17 years 7 months, diving on Centre Court grass, and defended it in 1986. He won six majors including the 1989 US Open and helped West Germany to Davis Cups. His 1988 and 1990 Wimbledon finals against Edberg were classics of the era. He later coached Djokovic to six majors.
