Jimmy Connors
Jimbo, eight majors and a record 109 career titles
Overview
The working class battler from Belleville won eight majors, including five US Opens, and held number one for a cumulative 268 weeks. In 1974 he won three of the four majors. His double handed ferocity and refusal to lose kept him ranked for over 20 years, and his 1991 US Open run at 39 is legend. His 109 titles remain the men record.
