Davis Cup
The World Cup of tennis, contested since 1900
Overview
Dwight Davis donated the bowl and the USA played Britain in Boston in 1900, beginning international team tennis. Australia, the USA, France, Britain, Sweden, Spain and Croatia all built dynasties. The competition gave heroic stages to Tilden, the French Musketeers, Laver and countless five set classics. Since 2019 it runs as a week long World Cup style finals event.
