Henri Cochet
Musketeer with seven major singles titles and a genius for the half volley
Overview
Cochet was one of the Four Musketeers who carried France to six straight Davis Cup wins from 1927 to 1932. A slight player who took the ball early, he won the French Championships four times, Wimbledon in 1927 and 1929 and the US title in 1928. His 1927 Wimbledon run included comebacks from two sets down in three consecutive rounds, a feat still told in tennis lore.
