Brazilian stylist with seven major singles titles
Overview
Bueno won Wimbledon in 1959, 1960 and 1964 and the US Championships four times, bringing a graceful attacking game that made her a national icon in Brazil. She was ranked world number one in several seasons and also won numerous major doubles titles. Arm injuries limited her later career, and she remained a respected commentator in Brazil until her death in 2018.
