Stefan Edberg
Six majors, the purest serve and volley of his generation
Overview
The elegant Swede won the junior Grand Slam in 1983 and six senior majors, back to back Australian titles in 1985 and 1987, Wimbledons in 1988 and 1990, and the US Open in 1991 and 1992. His kick serve and classical volleys were textbook. He led Sweden to Davis Cup titles and his rivalry with Becker split the era with Becker slightly ahead.
